Fit for graphics and covers
Keep titles, borders, logos and edge content visible. ListingFormat centers the source inside the square and fills the remaining canvas.
Turn portrait, landscape or already-square artwork into a clean 1:1 image. Keep the full source visible with Fit, or crop a photo edge to edge when the composition allows it.
Converting a rectangular source into a square means deciding what happens to the extra width or height. You can preserve the whole source and fill the remaining square canvas, or crop enough of the source to fill the square. Stretching is usually the least desirable option because it changes the original proportions.

Fill the complete square when the subject can be reframed safely. This removes some source area but avoids padding.
Use a destination preset or enter custom equal dimensions such as 1200×1200, 2000×2000 or 2048×2048.
Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP. Source-image processing happens locally in the browser.
Select a square marketplace preset or choose Custom and set the same width and height.
Use Fit when every part of the source matters. Use Crop when filling the square is more important than preserving the outer edges.
A common social-media-sized square. It is lighter than larger product images and useful when extreme zoom is not needed.
A larger square that gives product artwork and digital covers more pixel detail. ListingFormat uses this size in some marketplace-oriented presets.
A high-resolution square target that provides a little more detail than 2000×2000 while retaining the same 1:1 shape.
The ratio matters independently of the resolution. A 500×500 file and a 3000×3000 file are both square, but they differ substantially in pixel detail and file size.
If your original is portrait or landscape and contains text, use Fit. ListingFormat can place the complete source over a blurred-image backdrop, a solid color, or a transparent canvas. That approach is especially useful for book covers, digital downloads, posters, course graphics and branded artwork where cutting off the edges would damage the design.
1:1. Width and height are equal.
Yes. Choose a square target and Fit mode. The complete portrait remains visible inside the square canvas.
Downscaling usually preserves quality well. Upscaling cannot recreate missing source detail, so a sufficiently large original is preferable for large square outputs.
Yes. You can generate destination presets or repeat the process with different custom square dimensions.
