Fit to 2000×2000
Keep the complete source visible and place it inside a square canvas. This is safer for text, borders, covers and branded graphics.
Create an exact 2000 by 2000 pixel square from a portrait, landscape or square source. Keep the complete image with Fit or crop it to fill the entire canvas.
Changing an image to a fixed square size involves two separate decisions: the output dimensions and how the source should fit inside them. If the source is already square, the conversion is straightforward. If it is portrait or landscape, choose between preserving the whole source or cropping the outer area.

Fill the full square with the source image and trim the excess. This often works well for centered product photography.
If the source is much smaller than 2000 pixels on the needed axis, enlarging it cannot recreate the original detail. ListingFormat flags significant upscaling.
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP. Source-image resizing happens locally in your browser.
Use a 2000×2000 destination preset when appropriate, or select Custom and enter 2000 for both width and height.
Fit protects the whole source. Crop fills the square. Generate the result and export it in your preferred image format.
A 2000-pixel square provides substantially more image detail than small social graphics and gives product imagery room to remain sharp on larger screens.
Text-heavy covers can benefit from a large canvas, but use Fit rather than Crop when titles, subtitles or borders approach the image edges.
The square format can work well for centered product photographs. Cropping is often visually cleaner when the subject has enough breathing room around it.
Pixel dimensions are only one factor. JPG quality, PNG transparency and image complexity can make two 2000×2000 files differ greatly in storage size.
Both are square 1:1 images and they look nearly identical in shape. A 2048×2048 file has about 4.86% more pixels than a 2000×2000 file. In most visual contexts the difference is small; the correct choice should come from the destination, workflow or file specification you are targeting.
4,000,000 pixels, or 4 megapixels.
Yes. Use Fit mode. The full portrait stays visible and the remaining square canvas is filled with your selected background.
No. It increases the pixel dimensions but cannot recover source detail that was never present.
